Shifting Sands - The Book - Limited edition signed copies

Following the InTransit Festival and the Exhibition Road Cultural Group's commission of the touring artist-led installation Shifting Sands, we're pleased to be able to offer signed editions of the artist's book, which tells the story of Anne-Laure Carruth and Lucy Engleheart's journey around the levant.

They write: “In 2014 we left our jobs and secure London lives to drive our 1971 Land Rover around the Mediterranean to experience and document everyday life in North Africa and the Middle East. We wanted to add a positive layer of information to the picture portrayed in the mainstream media, a personal tale interweaving the stories of the people we met with our own.

Our journey was more rewarding than we could ever have imagined.

Driving through sensational landscapes and vibrant cities we navigated noise, exhaustion, discomfort, searing heat and numerous breakdowns – and came across generosity and creativity in every place we went, making friends often in the most unexpected of circumstances.

At the age of 43, Landy was a thing of beauty but pretty basic so we decided to adapt her to meet the needs of the expedition. Having left England as a classic British car, Landy picked up a flavour of every country we travelled through and behind each modification lies a story.”
